On Thursday, April 10, the Communications and Technology Subcommittee approvedá the DOTCOM Act, legislation drafted in response to the Obama administrationÁ€™s proposal regarding the future of the Internet. Authored by Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL), H.R. 4342 would direct the GAO to study the proposed changes and present a non-partisan evaluation before the administration may take action to modify the current Domain Name System.

Building on the committee’s bipartisan success in the public health arena, the House approved the Children’s Hospital Graduate Medicare Education Support Reauthorization Act, legislation championed by Health Subcommittee Chairman Joe Pitts (R-PA) and Ranking Member Frank Pallone (D-NJ) and authored by Senator Bob Casey (D-PA).
