If the cover for Konami's Metal Gear on NES looks suspiciously familiar, it's because the artwork was modeled after a promotional film still of 1984's cult classic, Terminator. Michael Biehn, who played Kyle Reese in the film, was the inspiration for the picture of Solid Snake, a name influenced by another movie, Escape from New York. The character art on the box is nearly an exact replica of the still shot, from Reese's headset and hand positions on his scoped pistol to the equipment on his belt and the dirt on his face.
