Forum Update

Hello OMers! For those of you who are unaware, OneManga has an active community attached to it in addition to the manga tracker. Here are a few things that are going on right now:

*We are currently voting on a winter banner over at the forums. Voting threads are in the Announcements section (http://forum.onemanga.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3).

*OMF's Imaginarium (http://forum.onemanga.com/forumdisplay.php?f=120) is a great resource for those of you interested in creating your own mangas or role playing. It also has a number of different art and writing competitions.

*If you just want to talk about whatever is on your mind, check out OM's chatbox (http://forum.onemanga.com/misc.php?do=cchatbox). CBers are requesting new blood... just don't let them bite. (We were told to warn you that there might be whips, chains, and Drewbeards. But suck it up and visit anyway :D)

Small update

Well we updated our system slightly to allow for better tracking of the manags we have and are trying to provide the easiest access to the chapters as we can (without actually directly linking or hosting them). Hopefully some of you will find the changes helpful when looking for new chapters of the current series.

Looks like the next step is to add more series for us to help you track and also to fix the darn reading list chapter number increment problem. Doesn't seem like a hard thing so maybe it won't take too long.

Forgot to mention... due to ther commitments I will no longer be able to work on OM anymore....
It's very sad to leave but hopefully the site can still somehow recover a bit.
Thank you all for all support for the site in the past and it was great to have been a part of such a great community. Anyhow going to keep it short. So take care everyone!

Account Creation Problem

The account registration problem has been fixed

However these accounts are mainly for just keeping a read list/marking which series you follow for now.
We're trying to fix the lack of a way to increase the reading list chapters right now and hope to have a simple solution soon.

These account however are NOT for enabling manga reading. There is not any way to read manga on this site anymore. It is very unlikely right now that we'll be bringing back the reader. Sorry everyone

Lack of news

Sorry everyone for the lacks of news on whats going on. Things have been going a little slow but we're still around and working thats for sure.

Things are still moving on the site and we're looking at ways to do things better here. So expect some minor new design and function changes in the future.

On a postitive note it does seem like the "My Original Manga" area for the forums has been doing fairly well. So this is good to see.

WSJ Info

One Piece will be returning this week after its month long break~!!

However Naruto will be taking the week off as Kishimoto will working on a special oneshot for next week's Jump.

The rest will be out as usual

OM Beta

Hi Everyone,

Some of you might have noticed that the "beta" links and pages are gone now. That's cause we decided to finally just combine it with the main site.

We'll be working on adding a few new functions to it soon as well as finding some way to 'fix' the reading list so that you again keep track of which chapters you've reached.
Also since our OM Ranking (previously based on number of views) will no longer work, we're going to need to come up with some new system to rank and rate series. If anyone got a good suggestion about this please let us know.

"My Original Manga" Area

We asked everyone for suggestion on what we can do now our viewer was gone. A very large number of people suggested we host manga works that people have done themselves. We previously looked into this idea but the reaction was kind of mixed but we figured it is probably worth a shot given the situation now.

So forum team has setup an area there for people to post and discuss each other's original manga works. We're trying to see how well this works and so we encourage everyone to go use it if you are working on a manga.

Oh and we also added some more sub-forums to a few popular series. Hopefully you all will find it useful.

WSJ Info - One Piece

(And the wait continues.... 3 more weeks to go for its return)

A lot of people have asking us to keep posting info about Weekly Shounen Jump if there are any special circumstances.

So going to post a quick reminder here about One Piece. It will be on break for 4 weeks, starting this week. Yep, it's a rather long break but I'm sure Oda will make it worth while for all the OP fans once it does return.

The rest of the series like Naruto, Bleach, Reborn, Bakuman, Psyren, etc will be unaffected.

Layout Changes, New Series and Beta

Just a short note about some of the small changes we made visually. Some of you may have noticed the layout of some of the pages has been rearranged a bit. We're hoping this works better but everything is still a work in progress so if you have suggestions just let us know. We'll likely have a more complete visual change coming in the future (probably about time we changed our look =P)

For now OM is working as just being a information and basic new releasing tracking site. So to help with that even more we'll try and add a few new series soon.

Also we're working hard on trying to get the beta features finalized/fixed/tested so we can put them on the main site. It's been on 'beta' too long so we'd like to get this done.

And one more thing. When giving suggestions we've noticed a lot of people saying that we should move our servers and that other sites are doing that. This is not something we will be doing. We have always been very respectful towards the publishers requests and doing what we can to comply and so we do not feel such a move is the right thing for us to do.
I mean no disrespect to other sites when saying this nor do I have the right to judge them on their actions for what they do during these times as each person is just doing what they feel is the best for them. But OM's stance has always been the same and so we kindly ask people to please not suggest a server move for OM's future plans.

We're Still Alive

Even we haven't had a whole lot for show yet, we are definitely still alive and kicking! (Even though our viewer is gone)

We are looking into a bunch of idea that you all suggested (Thanks!) and also testing out a few things here and there right now.
We did add one thing we had planned for our beta before, which was a sort of recommendation system to introduce users to different mangas. It still requires some tweaks maybe but it is up and running (works a lot better for those signed in on Beta with a reading list). The design also isn't finalized yet so if you have any suggestions please let us know.

Hopefully we'll have some more things done soon but for now we'll do our best just to keep our series and chapter list up to date so at least it will be somewhat useful to you guys out there who want a bit of help tracking releases.
