About PC Flank's tests

You can easily test your system for vulnerability to Internet threats with PC Flank’s online tests. Each test should take no more than 3 minutes, depending on the speed of your Internet connection.

Here are brief descriptions of each test:

	Quick test This test shows how vulnerable your computer is to various Internet threats. This test combines the Advanced Port Scanner, Browser and Trojans Tests. After the test, you will receive a comprehensive report with recommendations on how to improve the security of your system. To start the test, click here.
	Stealth Test You can use the Stealth test to determine if your computer is visible to others on the Internet. You can also use this test to determine if your firewall is successfully hiding your system ports. The Stealth test uses five scanning techniques. To start the test, click here.
	Browser Test This test checks if your browser reveals personal information about sites you have visited, the region you live in, who your Internet Service Provider is, etc. After the test, you will receive recommendations for specific changes to your browser settings. 	Trojans Test This test scans your system for the most dangerous and widespread Trojan horses. If a Trojan is found on your computer, the test will recommend actions to take. To start the test, click here.
	Advanced Port Scanner The Advanced Port Scanner tests your system for open ports that can be used in attacks against your computer. You can select which scanning technique to use during the test: TCP connect scanning (standard) or TCP SYN scanning. You can also select which system ports you want to scan. 	Exploits Test This test detects how vulnerable your computer is to exploits and can also be used to test firewalls and routers for stability and reactions to unexpected packets. Most exploits are in reality denial-of-service attacks; you should be aware that, if your system is unable to pass this test, it may crash or reboot. To start the test, click here.

There are three ways to address these tests, depending on your level of experience as a computer user and the time you have available.

Beginner:
This route is recommended for new or inexperienced computers users. Start with the Quick Test, then run your system through the Stealth Test, and finish with Trojans Test to scan your system for most dangerous and widespread Trojan horses.

Advanced:
This route is recommended for experienced users. Start with the Advanced Port Scanner and scan the ports you want to check, then examine your firewall with the Stealth Test, then check your browser privacy with the Browser Test, and finish with the more sophisticated denial-of-service attacks in the Exploits Test.

Rush:
This route is recommended to those with limited time and will give you a good basic idea of how secure your system is. Start testing your system with the Quick Test, then examine your firewall with the Stealth Test.
